Banham Lock Replacement and Refurbished Hardware in St Albans

We were asked to attend a property in St Albans recently as our customer had some old Banham locks and wanted to replace the cylinders so they had new keys and needed both locks on front door to be operated with the same key

As they were older style Banham locks we were able to use Mul-T-Lock restricted key cylinders in place of the old ones, keeping the cost of keys and parts down compared to genuine Banham parts without compromising on security.

Our customer had recently fitted new hardware to the door in a satin chrome finish and as the banham escutcheons and lock surrounds were worn and in a brass finish we had them stripped and refinished by another company in a matching satin chrome finish.

After a fresh coat of paint, new locks and refurbished hardware the door has been transformed.

One of our clients who runs a well know chain of coffee shops in North London contacted us recently regarding problems they were having with their toilet access in one of their stores. They requested that we install a system where access can be granted to the toilets by a member of staff from behind the counter due to the recent issues they have been encountering.

We agreed on an access control system with mag locks on 2 toilet doors, with large heavy duty push to exit buttons in each toilet. Key switches fitted to underside of counter and a key override switch to disable mag locks when needed, at the property in North London.

So not to disrupt the business or customers in anyway the installation took place at night outside of store opening hours.

Our engineer Ian was onsite at 7pm and completed all the necessary work and testing before the shop opened the following morning.

Today we were called by a customer who had locked himself out of his home in London, NW5. They first called another locksmith company to get him in but they were unable to gain access. the other locksmith decided to drill several holes in his lock, showing their inexperience then charged a substantial sum and came away from job without replacing the lock, leaving the customer with no way of securing the property.

We were surprised on the amount of damage done to the lock and explained that it was unnecessary as there were several non-destructive techniques that could have been used to gain access and that would have resulted in leaving the customer with a working lock.

Our Locksmith Gavin was onsite within 30 minutes of his call and he supplied and fitted a suitable replacement lock with new keys.

Had we of been called originally this could of been a much cheaper job for the customer. We urge people to do some research on companies before making a call, many of the top listings on google are dominated by national call centres now and we’re seeing more and more of these types of jobs being carried out.
